Phytotoxicity testing and assessment of seed bank on the amended Sentein soils

Soils collected at the Sentein site, a former Pb/Zn mining area, were assessed in a pot experiment. The aim was to ameliorate the physicochemical soil properties and to reduce the plant exposure to metal(loid)s. Soils were amended with either 5% (w/w) compost, 5% compost and 0.5% dolomite, or 5% compost and 1% dolomite. Amended soils were compared to untreated soils. Dwarf beans were sowed in potted soils. Germination rate and shoot biomass of dwarf beans were determined. In parallel, the germination of the seed bank was recorded.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
